As a result the United States that was still in doubt involved in World War II, was fully joined the Allies and declared war on Japan and the two allies, Germany and Italy. Who want to be told in film production in 2001 it was the drama of a love triangle of two men and a woman who happened to all three works on the military. Once the two boys in rural Tennessee in 1923, Danny Walker and Rafe McCawley chum and dreams of becoming a pilot. 18 years later, exactly in 1941, Rafe (Ben Affleck) has become a charismatic man and a U.S. Army Air Corps pilot (the forerunner of the U.S. Air Force) who held the rank of captain.
On the other hand though Europe has been mired in war, but the U.S. was still neutral so that Rafe who want to fight in the air so that a volunteer pilot for the British Eagle Squadron who receive foreign Piot. But his departure to Europe means Rafe left his girlfriend, Evelyn Johnson (Kate Beckinsale), a U.S. Navy nurse rank of lieutenant and also his best friend, Danny (Josh Hartnett) who is also captain of the pilot in the Air Corps. However, Danny and Evelyn then heard Rafe is shot down in a mission and is considered to have been killed.
Evelyn and Danny was devastated to hear the news because they do not think Rafe so quickly go from their lives. See Evelyn was so sad, Danny is also no less sad, trying to comfort the girl. Because often together, do not be surprised if the resulting seeds of love between them. On one night, Danny and Evelyn went to the beach and unexpected meeting with Rafe. Apparently Rafe is still alive and are now angry to see his girlfriend fell into the arms of his friend alone. Close friendships and even then turned into bitter hostility. Not to mention Danny and Rafe solve their problems, suddenly the air fleet of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

Sampai akhirnya Jarotlah yang berhasil melumpuhkan lawan dan tanpa diduganya pisau itu tertancap ditubuh lawan, rubuh bersimbahkan darah, dan mati. Seketika semua diam dan kemudian kabur meninggalkan Jarot seorang diri yang berdiri terpana tidak percaya.
Persahabatan yang sudah mereka jalin eratpun teruji. Jarot harus mengalami pengalaman pahit di penjara seorang diri. Tidak ada seorang sahabatpun yang memperdulikannya.
Perasaan sakit hati dan terkhianati mengubah Jarot menjadi lelaki yang keras. Keputusannya setelah keluar dari penjara untuk bergabung di kelompok Naga Hitam membuatnya jadi berseberangan dengan kelompok Ale. Karena kelompok Naga Hitam adalah musuh besar kelompok Ale.
Intrik demi intrik pun semakin rumit. Terlebih lagi ketika Jarot menjalin cinta lamanya kembali secara diam-diam dengan Aisya, adik Ale. Keputusan Jarot ini dianggap membahayakan bagi kedua kelompok yang berseteru.
